The determination of the normal values of the cross-sectional surface areas and ratios of the vertebral canal and the spinal cord on the healthy individuals is of great importance with regards to the fact that it provides convenience for the doctors to make correct pathological diagnosis because of the most suitable treatment. Características produtivas, físicas e químicas de frutos de cultivares de pessegueiros sobre dois porta-enxertos no oeste do Estado de São Paulo Rev. Bras. Frutic.

Objetivou-se avaliar as características físicas e químicas de seis cultivares de pessegueiros sobre os porta-enxertos Okinawa e Umê. O trabalho foi desenvolvido no Pólo Regional Alta Sorocabana-APTA, Presidente Prudente-SP, em 2004/2006. Foram avaliados a massa, comprimento, diâmetros sutural dos frutos, produção por planta, teor de sólidos solúveis (SS) e acidez titulável (AT). As avaliações permitiram concluir que os porta-enxertos influenciaram na massa dos frutos, tendo sobressaído o Umê, com frutos de maior massa média. Em 2006, ocorreu aumento significativo na produtividade de todas as cultivares, sobressaindo-se as cvs. Talismã e Doçura 2, com valores acima da média. A cv. I present a program, censlope, for calculating confidence intervals for generalized Theil–Sen median (and other percentile) slopes (and per-unit ratios) of Y with respect to X. Effect of different digestible isoleucine/lysine ratios for broiler chickens R. Bras. Zootec.

Two experiments were conducted to evaluate different digestible isoleucine/lysine ratios on diets for broiler chickens in the starter (7 to 21 days) and finishing (30 to 43 days) phases. For the tests, the experimental design was of randomized blocks with seven treatments (six different digestible isoleucine/lysine ratios and a control treatment) and eight repetitions of 25 and 20 birds (COBB males) per experimental unit in the starter and finishing phases, respectively. The diets met the requirements, except for isoleucine and lysine. Factors affecting the thermal activation of Neosartorya fischeri in pineapple and papaya nectars BJM

In this research factors that influence the activation of Neosartorya fischeri ascospores (heating medium, temperature of production and age of the ascospores) were studied. The heating medium used was pineapple and papaya nectars at different ratios (ºBrix/acidity). Lower activation times were observed for the N. fischeri ascospores in pineapple and papaya nectars under the conditions of temperature and production age of 25ºC for 1 month and using ratios of the heating medium of 10 for pineapple nectar and 26 for papaya nectar. ABSTRACT Previous studies have confirmed the potential of hyperspectral spectroscopy (HS) to detect charcoal rot toxin effect on soybean (Glycine max). However, there is no evidence that it can differentiate among difference responses to that effect. This research tested the potential of HS (900–2400 nm) to differentiate different responses to charcoal rot effect caused by the fungal pathogen Macrophomina phaseolina. The factors responsible for inducing the synthesis of toxins and responses from toxic phytoplankton blooms remain unclear. In this study we compare the influence of genotypic (at both the intra and interspecific levels) and environmental factors (nutrient concentration and ratio) on growth (in terms of cell densities) and domoic acid (DA) production in three Pseudo-nitzschia species: P. australis, P.pungens and P.fradulenta. Oxidative stability of tilapia feeds containing Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Spirulina platensis Ciência Rural

ABSTRACT: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of the inclusion of microbial biomass on the oxidative rancidity of tilapia rations stored for 12 months. Treatments included a control diet and diets supplemented with either 0.01% vitamin E, 0.25 and 0.5% of Saccharomyces cerevisiae and 0.25 and 0.5% of Spirulina platensis. Experimental diets were stored in the dark inside plastic bags at room temperature (25 °C) for 12 months. The oxidative rancidity was measured as thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS). Abstract There are several banana cultivars resistant to Black Sigatoka disease and to Panama disease, but due to the lack of information regarding post-harvest characteristics, many are rejected in the market. Relaciones NH4+/NO3- y Ca2+/K+ en la producción de fresa (Fragaria x ananassa Duch.) en hidroponia. Colegio de Postgraduados

El objetivo de la presente investigación fue estudiar el efecto de las relaciones (en la solución nutritiva) amonio/nitrato (NH4+/NO3-) y calcio/potasio (Ca2+/K+) en plantas de fresa Fragaria x ananassa cv. Festival, cultivadas en fibra de coco en un sistema hidropónico. Los tratamientos de NH4+/NO3- fueron 100/0, 75/25, 25/75 y 0/100 en porcentaje de nitrógeno total y 58/42, 75/25, 50/50, 25/75 de Ca2+/K+. Los resultados obtenidos indicaron que las plantas con mayor crecimiento vegetativo y área foliar fueron las que se cultivaron con el tratamiento 100/0 donde se adicionó el 100% de nitrógeno en forma de amonio.
